The First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown is celebrating our 200 years by planting 200 daffodils bulbs around our Celtic cross, we can’t wait for their bright springtime blossoms. Our vibrant and faithful congregation have organized a year of events to celebrate our bicentennial. Kicking off in January with a family movie night and potluck, in February, a congregation art exhibit and talent show. 200 acts kindnesses flags are flying, and our very own kazoo band is marching in the O’Riordan St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Summertime events include a multi choir concert celebrating Heritage Sunday, a picnic and worship service at Porter on the Lake and ending the summer with a fun filled congregation progressive dinner. In September, a YPC float debuts in the Youngstown Labor Day Parade followed by games and chowder at the church. Also, in September, we are lucky enough to have our very own Jerry and Claudia Andres write an original historic play about our church, We Gather Together. December is our St Andrew’s Day celebration and our final fabulous 200th blowout is a banquet in January 2024, you’re only 200 once YPC.
